Biography

Born to a racing driver father, but without a silver spoon in her mouth, Abbie grew up around motorsport. When she was small she says her father – ‘clutching trophies in his sweaty overalls’ – was her hero. At the age of ten she began karting and went on to compete at a national level, moving to cars when she was fifteen.

Abbie began her early career in the Junior Saloon Car Trophy, finishing in the top three. In her first year of the senior Production Touring Car Trophy she won 15 of her 18 races and went on to win the MX5 Super Cup Championship. She moved into British GT, racing a Maserati GT4 and came second in the Pro-Am Championship, and has competed in the Blancpain Endurance GT3 where she won her class.

In 2018 she joined the cast of Amazon’s The Grand Tour – presented by Jeremy Clarkson – to become their test driver. Abbie was initially one of W Series’ critics, but after watching the inaugural season, and seeing how it helped to develop the drivers’ careers, she became a convert.

I’m relieved that all my hard work has paid off. I’m super excited to be back and hoping to get stronger as time goes on. I want to say a huge thank you to all of my friends, family, physios, trainers, donators, and neurosurgeon for helping me get back so quickly, and to W Series for giving me another chance.
