Naomi Schiff takes up Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador role

W Series has appointed 25-year-old racer, Naomi Schiff, to its team as Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador.

  • Racing driver turned presenter Naomi Schiff becomes W Series Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador
  • W Series’ 2019-season driver joins London-based team full-time
  • W Series pushes to attract the best female drivers from all cultures and regions of the world

Naomi, who is half-Belgian and half-Rwandan, but grew up in South Africa from the age of four, was one of the 20 drivers to race in the inaugural W Series championship in 2019, while living in Germany and racing under the German flag.

Although she has not qualified for re-entry into the W Series championship for the 2020 season, she has accepted a full-time ambassador position for W Series, based at its London headquarters.

Naomi Schiff said:

“W Series has made an incredible difference to my life. So, although I haven’t qualified to race in the 2020 W Series championship, I’m still committed to pursuing a racing career and I’m more determined than ever to win a place in the 2021 W Series championship. In the meantime I’m delighted to be working with the W Series team in London – not  only to help spread the word about the unique role that W Series is playing for female drivers worldwide, but also to attract the best drivers to us, whoever and wherever they might be.”

Naomi started karting at the age of 11 and has since then raced in prototype, GT and single seater cars. Her successes include the 2014 Clio Cup Asia championship title, 2018 KTM GT4 X-Bow Battle championship title and a second place in the 2018 ADAC Zurich 24 Hours Nürburgring.

W Series CEO, Catherine Bond Muir, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Naomi to the W Series team here in London. W Series is committed to equality and Naomi will be helping ensure we encourage women from all communities, including minority groups, are represented as drivers, engineers or mechanics at W Series. As one of our original drivers, there’s nobody more passionate or informed to tell our story and we’re excited to be working with her.”
