Six New Drivers Enter W Series Selection

New drivers join selection process

W Series, the all-new single-seater racing series for female drivers only, today names a further six drivers who will take part in the selection programme that will determine the drivers who will race in the inaugural W Series season, commencing at Hockenheim (Germany) in May 2019.

The selection programme will be an exhaustive one, overseen by ex-Formula 1 driver and double Le Mans winner Alex Wurz. It will take place at the Wachauring in Melk (Austria) in late January.

The six new drivers are:

Alessandra Brena, 23, Italy

Francesca Linossi, 26, Italy

Lyubov Andreyeva, 22, Kazakhstan

Gosia Rdest, 25, Poland

Inès Taittinger, 28, France

Alexandra Whitley, 25, Australia

Catherine Bond Muir (CEO, W Series) said:

“After careful appraisal and deliberation, we’re delighted to be able to welcome Alessandra, Alexandra, Andreyeva, Francesca, Gosia and Ines to the W Series selection programme, which will now involve some 60 ambitious female drivers. Via an exhaustive programme overseen over a number of days in late January by ex-Formula 1 driver and double Le Mans winner Alex Wurz, we plan to whittle those 60 qualifiers down so as to determine those who will then go forward to race in the inaugural W Series season, beginning at Hockenheim [Germany] in May 2019. We’re excited. Everything about W Series will be not only innovative but also rigorous.”
