W Series has today appointed Jennie Stoddart-Scott as Director of Communications.

Stoddart-Scott will play a key role in capitalising on the success of W Series’ inaugural season and its landmark new partnership with Formula 1, which will see W Series staging races at eight F1 race weekends over the 2021 season.

Jennie Stoddart-Scott has been appointed Director of Communications for W Series

She has a wealth of experience in consumer engagement, brand building and corporate reputation. Most recently, she was Head of Communications at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) where she was instrumental in boosting cricket’s profile and bringing new audiences to the sport. Here she formed part of the team who won PR Week’s award for Best Crisis Comms Around the Coronavirus.

Previously she spent five years at freuds where she headed up the team delivering behaviour change campaigns for Public Health England, led the Mars UK press office and worked on a series of gender equality campaigns for clients including the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Mayor of London.

She has also worked at a number of other leading PR agencies, including Fever PR, Teneo and Lexis PR.

Jennie Stoddart-Scott (Director of Communications, W Series) said:

“W Series is less than three years old but its growth in that time, particularly against the backdrop of the ongoing global health crisis, has been extraordinary. I feel incredibly privileged to be able to play a part in helping W Series to realise its mission to inspire more girls and women to be a part of motorsport and ultimately, to empower them to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

“Our new partnership with F1, the world’s most prestigious motor racing championship, demonstrates just how inspiring and powerful the W Series mission is and I look forward to working closely with the team, and all of our partners, to take our story further and wider.”

Catherine Bond Muir (Chief Executive Officer, W Series) said:

“We are delighted to welcome Jennie to the team ahead of this hugely exciting season. Her extensive knowledge of consumer and sports PR, coupled with her proven track record in delivering powerful campaigns and corporate reputation programmes, will be invaluable as we look to take W Series’ to the next level.”
